THE Source For Truth About CAT Adjusting
Working Claims In Remote Areas

You may sometimes find yourself working claims in remote areas where gas stations are few and far between...if at all. As an adjuster you must always be prepared for what might happen.

Always try to keep your gas tank full, when you get to a half a tank, fill back up.

Keep at least 1 gas can full and with you at all times...2 is better but you need at least 1.

Check your spare tire to make sure that it is still good and fully inflated; in case you do have a flat, make sure that you have a jack that works. I have, AAA like most adjusters that work a lot, BUT on some of these roads I had to travel to remote claims, I had NO cell phone service due to no towers in those areas, so I couldn't have called AAA if I had wanted to.

Always tell someone  where you are going that day if it's one of those remote area claims, either another adjuster that is staying where you are at, or your admin manager or field manager, so that someone knows where to look for you in case something were to happen.

These are only precautions as it is rare that anything does happen, but you must always think ahead.
